Every leader should lead from a place of confidence, honesty, and integrity. Managing to remain humble yet being decisive and delegating tasks. One of the best qualities a leader should have is the ability to read and understand their staff or team.
When I lead my team I am aware of my strengths and skills. I am constantly evaluating the members to ensure that I am using their strengths for the benefit of the whole team. My leadership style is to always keep an open mind and to give everyone an equal opportunity to shine.
When employees feel heard, validated, and appreciated half the battle of managing a large company is won. The staff at various levels in the business will give their best and production will operate at an optimum level.
Another way that I show my dedication and appreciation to my staff is to offer them employee benefits. There are many ways to show employees that you value their contribution to the company. Medical insurance and pension funds are the most common although there are other ways such as enrolling staff in advanced courses in their fields and offering bursaries to their children.
When you understand your staff and they are aware of what you expect from them the business can grow exponentially. It has been my experience that the business goes from strength to strength with a core of happy employees.
