Being a good leader takes self-reflection and managing your strengths and weaknesses. If you are able to know how to navigate your challenges it will make your job as a leader that much easier. Identifying others’ characters and assigning them to positions that will showcase their strengths will boost their confidence in their own abilities.
Keeping the team motivated and inspired is what can make all the difference in keeping a positive attitude and succeeding in meeting the goals set. Showing by example how to evaluate your potential and working on developing your strengths and addressing any weaknesses will give the staff the incentive to do the same. Take note of your habits and moods and when you have a good grasp of yourself you will not be inclined to act impulsive when under pressure.
Show that you have a positive attitude which includes making yourself as a leader accountable. In this way, you can expect your team members to be more at ease with taking accountability. I find that when my team is comfortable in owning up and taking accountability, more often than not they will stick together and learn from any setbacks moving positively forward together.
As a leader instilling a good strong positive attitude is imperative when you want to introduce change. Change is often met with a certain amount of resistance and the more positive you are as a leader in implementing the change the smoother the transition. Creating a positive outlook and displaying this to your team will make your leadership role stand out as an inspiring role model.
